Today I had a lovely interview with the one and only, Ladybugs! It was a marvelous time that I would never forget. On The Ladybugs fan page there is also a link to this blog post. I started out by saying hi (of course). They were so polite! If you ever see The Ladybugs out and about don't be afraid to say hi because they were so nice! After that, I started to ask my questions. I first asked them how they started The Ladybugs. Natalie started to say, "It started two years back in 2017, we were in Fionna's yard just doodlin' around and we started singing. And all of a sudden we realized that we could do something with this, that this could be a hit." Fionna continued to say, "So we just starting singing Rotten Apple just off the spot. Can you believe it, I don't think you can. And we needed a name and we both really liked The Beatles and we thought of another bug and that was The Ladybugs! So that's really how The Ladybugs started." My second question was how they created all of the classic ladybug songs that we have learned to love and adore. Fionna started off this question by saying, "So to answer your question we came up with Rotten Apple just on the spot and it was just trial and error the whole time. But with Melon-cohli and Veggie-Fruits it was planned, or planned nonsense if you will. And with those songs we just wrote them down like actual songs." Then, Natalie continued to talk about their other hit single, Banana Battle,"So when we wrote banana battle I was eating a banana. I love bananas, personally, but apparently Fionna does not. So we started having this argument about bananas and then we decided that this could be a song." My third and final question was about any new songs. Fionna started out this question with saying, "So we haven't necessarily come up with any new songs that are going to be published any time soon. But we are definitely working on them. We don't know if we are going to do a set theme or if we're just going to do a bunch of different songs." Natalie then said, "We will definitely have another rap song, many pop songs, some slow songs, all of the things that you've seen in fructus, maybe even better." Hopefully this interview has given you a lot of insight on all of the things that you have been wondering about The Ladybugs. Stay tuned for more info on the one and only, Ladybugs.
